These include school, socializing, politics, business, slavery, and religion. Throughout the chapter, we will also be learning about the role that social status played in everyday life in the colonies. As we study this chapter, we will be taking a "walking tour" of Colonial Williamsburg. Students will have the opportunity to experience some of the daily activities in which colonists engaged. We will conclude the chapter by learning about the Great Awakening and its significant impact on colonial life. By the end of the chapter, all students should be able to answer the chapter focus question: What were the key parts of life for Southern colonists in the 1700s?
